Anne Grant:
Supporting Women’s College for Five Decades

Anne Grant PhotoThe distinction of greatest number of consecutive years supporting Women’s College Hospital belongs – along with our sincere thanks – to Anne Grant, who has donated annually since 1980 and almost every year since 1966.

Her commitment began when a friend recommended a doctor affiliated with the Hospital. “I had both my children at Women’s College, my son in 1960 and my daughter three years later. It was an impressive place,” Anne remembers. “The same nurse cared for me through both deliveries. My doctor was wonderful. It was just like being with family.”

Since then, Anne has been a patient at Women’s College several times. “I was concerned when I heard the hospital was changing,” she says. “I was always interested in their clinics and the work they did in women’s research. Then I received a letter announcing future plans for the hospital. That was good news!”

In 2004, Anne became a monthly donor. “I like it because it’s an easy way to give. My husband and I are retired and living on a fixed income. Money comes off my credit card every month so it isn’t a strain on our budget at the end of the year. That’s when I want to buy gifts for our three grandchildren.”

Anne has always believed giving should be done quietly. “It isn’t something you talk about. But I want people – especially seniors – to know that each donation counts. Contributing to Women’s College Hospital is a good way to give back to the community. If everybody gave a bit, it would go a long way.”

Thank you, Anne, for your outstanding dedication!
